News: Strawberry Rain to reissue super rare French album Mar-Vista "Visions of Sodal Ye"

Here's an album I've never even heard of until today. It was pressed on the do it yourself Kiosque D'Orphee, and is about as obscure as it gets. In researching, I found one previous auction, and that's the photo above. The seller described it as "cosmic prog", which sounds good to me - but who knows what it's really like. Could be one man and his synthesizer for all I know. Anyway, we'll find out soon enough as Strawberry Rain plans on reissuing this in the next couple of months!

While on the topic of Strawberry Rain, they also plan on reissuing a very rare 1973 band from Canada called Blind Owl (not to be confused with the 80s Massachusetts band). I could find nothing but an acetate cover on RYM (see below) and an Acid Archives stub calling it "obscure folk". Yet again, we'll be finding out more about this title soon.

And the previously announced Leong Lau's "Dragon Man' is on pace to be reissued between July and September this year.

Wow! I remember bidding on this one a couple of months ago on eBay only to lose :(
I couldn't find much info on the record at the time and will definitely look it up. I know Jason at SR is quite fond of the Kiosque D'Orphee titles :)
Once again many thanks Tom for this wonderful info

I just got my copy of this reissue cd in the mail. Can't wait to hear it - I hear a few excerpts before buying and loved what I heard. Not a fan of the physical package itself, though! The cover is basically weak birthday card-style card, that bends and creases very easily - not much better than thick paper, really, which for a digipack front cover (rather than a booklet cover that goes in a jewel case) is really poor. The whole thing is so bare bones that it looks like a pirate reissue, except for having a decent bio on the inside of the cover. Also the type of digipack used - the spindle was so tight I was worried I wouldn't be able to get the cd out without snapping it in half! Pressing in the centre whilst gentyly trying to lift out the disc, as per usualy, did not help - the centre spindle on these digipacks is just too tight and doesn't respond to pressing. Eventually I managed to lever it out but am almost too afraid to put it back in ;-)
