News: Rocket Records to reissue Fantasia and Scapa Flow!

Thanks to a tip from Laser Ken, we learned that Rocket Records of Finland will be reissuing two of our High priority wishlisters: Fantasia and Scapa Flow. Also look for the first reissue of Uni Sono, an obscure spacey rock album from 1975.

They're the label that we announced awhile back that recently released the Kaamos - "Deeds and Talks" and Seppo 'Paroni' Paakkunainen - "Plastic Maailma" albums.

It doesn't look like I ever publised my blurb for Scapa Flow. Here's the entry from the Original Wish List:

Scapa Flow - Uuteen Aikaan (Finland) 1980 Kompass. Outstanding Finnish progressive folk rock, similar to German acts like Carol of Harvest and Rebekka.

Can someone update the comment section for each blog entry and post links to where the albums are available in North America? This Scapa Flow is a must!!!

Hi Eddie,

Someone? LOL. That someone would have to be me wouldn't it? ;-)

Well, Ken Golden and Greg Walker both have tried to get in touch with the label, but they so far have shown zero interest in selling their product here in the US. It's weird, and unfortunate. I'm sure someone will break through eventually.

It isn't because of the lack of interest in selling the releases to the overseas markets, but because of the licensing costs for these releases are so high. So it's hard to be able to offer the releases with such prices that they are "acceptable" to american markets. It is possible to order these releases (with overseas delivery) from the following link: http://www.recordshopx.com/rocket/

With kind regards,
Juha Rantala,
Rocket Records

Thanks Juha for your response. While I certainly can understand your dilemma, I have to wonder if there isn't a better solution? The licensing fees, I'm sure, are consistent with other reissued albums, and yet they are sold here in the US - even at a high price.

I hope you are successful in working something out with dealers like Greg and Ken. If not, then we have the option of direct mail order I suppose.
